Weather: Winter – snow, ice, very cold. Clear skies though.

This was actually quite a tough, worrying day as we were not at all prepared – we had one ice axe and no crampons between the three of us.

The snow was well frozen, so we spent / wasted a lot of time cutting steps with the ice axe.

We had planned a two day outing, continuing on from here to Ben Challum and the Glen Lochay hills but we ended it after reaching this Munro, and headed back.

On our return we slept in an old farm hut/shed – very cold night.

This was a good pointer as to how prepared we should have been and the consequences of not taking the correct gear for the time of year.
