Starting from Achallader Farm we crossed the railway bridge and followed a fair path alongside the river into Coire Achaladair. From there we headed towards the bealach. Higher up this became ‘lumpy’ and then we spotted a very obvious path that we had clearly missed lower down.
From the bealach we followed a then faint path up the initially steep ridge and then more pronounced to the summit of Beinn Achaladair.
We stopped on the top for a while and then headed on towards the second munro of the day, Beinn a’Chreachain. This entail following an obvious ridge and path to the bealach (steep final descent), then over the top of Meall Buidhe and on to the summit.
The route off was North East from the top, down the shoulder (we went a little too far down this) and then back North West to the wooded area. We picked our way through this wooded area to the path by the side of the railway and followed this all the way back to the farm.
This was an excellent and very enjoyable day out.
