Weather: Very good; clear, cold with hazy sun.
“Stalking in Progress” sign posted – ignored.
Followed the route outlined in "The Munros"
– went slightly off route, to the wrong side of the Invervar Burn.
There was snow on the ground from about 600-700m, but no need for crampons.
Reached the summit of Carn Gorm and then headed on to Meall Garbh.
From Carn Gorm followed the route to the summit of Meall Garbh, but missed out on the top of “An Sgorr”.
From here I headed on to Carn Mairg.
From Meall Garbh the route was quite a slog up to the summit (over two tops).
Descended incorrectly SW from the South summit.
The weather began to deteriorate as I headed on to Creag Mhor.
By the time I had reach the bealach between Carn Mairg and Creag Mhor the weather was quite bad. I left my rucksack at this midway point and headed on up to Creag Mhor. I then returned to my rucksack over the other ‘top’ and started to descend.
The last 30 minutes or so was in darkness and required a head torch.
An excellent day all in all.
