Weather: An excellent very sunny day.

We had to use two cars for this trip. We left one at Dalrigh and the other we drove round to the start point at Dalmally.
The route started through a forest and the going, and route-finding , were difficult. From the forest, we headed out across open fields (and a bit of a slog) all the way to the summit.

After a quick stop we headed on towards Ben Lui, first descending to a col and them tackling a 400m climb to the summit of Ben Lui. I thought this would be hard going, but, in fact it seemed fairly easy. There was still some snow hanging around on the top.
This is a spectacular mountain, with steep summit ridges to all sides and it looked amazing, especially with all the snow.

From the top of Ben Lui, we continued to Ben Oss, initially via a long ridge descending to a col, followed by a steady, steep in places, stint to the summit. From the summit we had excellent views back to Ben Lui and also over towards Ben Challum.

From the top of Ben Oss we headed on to the final summit of the day Beinn Dubhchraig.
A short ridge walk took us along and up to the summit of Beinn Dubhchraig.
We arrived at the summit in glorious sunshine so we dallied a while. We had a brew and spent some time picking out recognizable tops from the great views.
From this final summit, we had a lengthy walk off, it was really muddy and felt like a bit of a slog. The last half mile or so is through a nice wooded area.

This was a fantastic day all in all, a great walk, matched with great weather – definitely recommended.

Unfortunately we missed the last ferry back to Bute, so we headed round to Loch Eck (towards Dunoon) and pitched the tent (at 11pm !!).
